Why I'm starting a blog

I know there are people out there who look down on bloggers.  They think people that blog have too much time on their hands or are over-sharers who post stuff that no one cares about.  Regardless of that, I've been toying with starting a blog for awhile now.  I'm thinking a blog for me might be a little like an online diary - someplace where I can just get out what's in my head - with the added bonus that I might actually get some feedback from anyone who follows my blog that may (or may not) help me.  I'm also hoping that the things I post may actually prove helpful to anyone who is suffering from the same affliction as I am - namely FAP and desmoid tumors.  Life has thrown me a lot of curve balls lately, and if anything I am going through can help someone down the road when they get their own diagnosis, then that is a good thing.  Anyway, being as I'm new to the whole blogging thing, this is going to be a work in progress and we'll just have to see how it goes.
